Настораживает одно: вот таких восторженных откликов от НЕ поклонников крайне мало... Очень часто я вижу на форумах мнения,что это явно не лучший их альбом, что он слишком скучен и тосклив...Признаюсь, я могу понять этих людей

ну так подожди, альбом только вчера вышел официально
это мы, фанаты, почали сразу покупать и качать, а пока широкая общественность дойдет до него, пройдет немало времени.

Take That: Beautiful World

Energetic. Fun. Cliched. Power ballads.

What's it all about?

After more than ten years in the pop wilderness, the once fab five are back as a more mature, grown-up foursome. It may be easy to forget how successful the boys once were, but cast your mind back to when they broke up and the thousands of calls helplines took from distraught fans – both male and female – and then fast forward to the sell-out comeback tour this summer and you should have a small idea why there has been such a buzz of excitement about this album.

Beautiful World is made up of 11 tracks – all partly written by Take That. Unlike the majority of songs in the Take That of old, the refreshed group now sees all four band members (Gary Barlow, Howard Donaled, Jason Orange and Mark Owen) singing the lead vocals on at least one track of the album.

Who's it by

Well, just in case you've been on a different planet or you were born after 1995, Take That were one of the first and most successful boy bands. Fresh on the heels of New Kids on the Block in the States and before the indie Blur/Oasis phase kicked off, Take That were the first all-singing, all-dancing male group in the UK since the Beatles.

Some of their major hits (they had eight number one hits in the 1990s) include Pray, Relight My Fire, Babe, Back For Good and Never Forget – to name just a few. Post break-up the boys went their separate ways. Robbie Williams went on to achieve international success while the others eventually faded into relative obscurity. Until now.

Likelihood of a trip to the Grammys

Beautiful World is likely to be as successful as the group's first single – heading straight to the top of the charts. But the involvement of Grammy award-winning producer John Shanks is likely to ensure that the album achieves some critical success as well as mass popularity.

What the others say

"Luckily, Beautiful World is very good. Its mild-mannered adult rock is slicker than a tub of Brylcreem, but not so cloying as to make you want to wash your hands after listening to it. There isn't a single shoddy or cynical moment on here. It's almost like the last ten years never happened." – The Observer

"The success of Patience… suggests that Beautiful World is likely to head for the top of the album charts rapidly, possibly knocking their rivals Westlife off the top position." – The Independent


So is it any good?

No doubt thousands of Take That fans will rush out to buy Beautiful World, and it's unlikely they'll be disappointed. The overall sound of the group has changed, with less of the chirpy pop beats of Pray and It Only Takes a Minute Girl. But at heart the essence of the band remains: enjoyable, catchy and wholesome.

The album doesn't try for anything too dramatic and oozes with their obvious joy and gratitude at being back at the top of their game. Hearing Gary's voice on the majority of the tracks is a comforting reminder of times past, but having the other three as lead singers provides a refreshing change, with Jason Orange's Wooden Boat standing out particularly.

Meaty and well-written tracks reflect both their own experience and the contribution of the award-winning Shanks.

It's clear to see why Patience was chosen as the debut single – it's undoubtedly one of the catchiest and most successful tracks on the album. Other tracks which stand out include Like I Never Loved You At All and the chirpy, slightly less-traditionally Take That song Shine.

Many of the tracks take a few times of listening to before they start to really appeal, but once they do, it's likely that a few will achieve the same success of the currently number one and aptly-named single, Patience.

Take That: 'Beautiful World'

Take That only got back together less than a year ago, but they're already making waves with their sophisticated brand of pop, the like of which hasn't really been heard since their split. Yes, they're selling to the more grown-up fans who cared about them back in the day, but since recent single 'Patience' went to number one, number four on downloads alone, it can't just be the old fans who are getting into Take That all over again.

New album Beautiful World is a ballad-driven album that shows off Gary Barlow's song-writing skills once more, but this time round enabling bandmates Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald to have a lot more input - the boys are older, wiser, and this is reflected in the maturity of the album.

1. 'Reach Out'
Pretty typical power ballad material, with lyrics that don't really do the boys justice. Having said this, Take That have a way of making everything they sing sound ineffably more classy - peculiar, because back in the day it was exactly the opposite, and that's why they were so loved!




2. 'Patience'
Take That's first release in over ten years topped the charts in its second week only recently, and you can see why. It contains the perfect ingredients for an upbeat ballad - great harmonies, great melodies, and a very catchy chorus.




3. 'Beautiful World'
This is one of those releases that sits midway between Westlife and Keane - just a little shy of the cheese factor that would ruin the song, but not quite in the indie stages that would alienate some of Take That's faithful. It's a steady, strong song.




4. 'Hold On'
We get a chance to hear a non-Barlow vocal on 'Hold On'. It's always good to see other band members take control and show us what they can do when given the opportunity to take the reins vocally. It's a gorgeous, emotive song that, whilst not heaps different from anything else on the album, is still beautiful in its own right.




5. 'Like I Never Loved You'
We're firmly back in cheese territory, and why Take That think the fans want slow-paced numbers after the huge success of all their more upbeat tracks is hard to understand, but this ballad will appeal to those who want to imagine their idols are actually speaking to them. Though hopefully we're all too old for that now...




6. 'Shine'
The boys have gone a little bit Scissor Sisters on this funky, exciting track, which gives hope that they will indeed release more upbeat stuff! 'Shine' really shows the development of the band musically - they've gone into Queen/Scissor Sisters territory (as everyone seems to be doing nowadays!), rather than the pure, original pop that made them famous. This is a really great, fun track, though.




7. 'I'd Wait For Life'
Barlow takes precendence again on yet another ballad, showing off his lilting range and superlative songwriting skills. Every track on this album is well written and put together, but it does seem that the group could have given us something a little more spunky.




8. 'Ain't No Sense In Love'
Throaty, soft vocals perpetuate throughout this track, a gentle ode to love lost, portrayed emotionally by all the boys and very basic, light piano. The understanding that you don't need heaps of backing to create a great song is one of the most prominent things on this track.




9. 'What You Believe In'
Mark Owen's voice is electronic-ed up on this slow, soft, hopeful track, which begs: 'I don't know which way we are going/Doesn't matter anyway/Just as long as you will stay."




10. 'Mancunian Way'
This is definitely a stand out track, despite being unlikely to be released as a single. It's clever, and catchy, with an opening reminiscent of 'Never Forget', although sadly there's nothing quite as epic as that on this nevertheless fun song.




11. 'Wooden Boat'/'Butterfly''
Beautiful World's closing track, with lead solo vocals by Jason Orange, is deliciously chilled out, very acoustic and awfully refreshing. We also have a sneaky little hidden acoustic track a bit after 'Wooden Boat' itself finishes - Barlow on his guitar, strumming away on a song called 'Butterfly', where Barlow explains that 'You'll always be a part of me.../My sweet butterfly/Just fly away."




Take That's new album is likely to top the charts, or at least hit the top five next weekend. It deserves to do so - it's a solid, beautifully composed and well sung piece of work. Whilst the boys really could do with ramping up the excitement factor, for the first thing they've produced after a decade-long hiatus, it's pretty great. Stand out tracks include 'Mancunian Way' and certainly the Queen-esque 'Shine', which would be a missed opportunity if not released as a single.

Именно Куин, есть у них одна песня, которая сильно напоминает Shine. Много сравнений с Куин слышала. А вот с Битлз больше схожа What u believe in.
