Робби: день рожденья - грустный праздник


Робби Уильямс (Robbie Williams) весьма нестандартным образом отпраздновал свое 33-летие. За день до «круглой даты» - 13 февраля - поп-звезде пришлось отправиться в реабилитационную клинику для лечения от пристрастия к медикаментозным препаратам, снимающим депрессию. Курс лечения музыкант проходит в одной из американских клиник - подальше от родных британских журналистов.

«Сегодня Робби Уилльямс был помещен в реабилитационный центр, из-за его зависимости от прописывавшихся ему лекарств. Других комментариев по этому поводу не будет», - заявил представитель певца.

После ухода из популярного бойз-бенда Take That в 1995 году Уилльямс уже несколько раз попадал в реабилитационную клинику. Однажды он признался в одном из интервью, что ему пришлось завязать с наркотиками и алкоголем лишь потому, что он от них поправляется. По словам Робби, от этих вредных привычек его «разнесло до размеров ангара для небольшого самолета».

Теперь же последствия пагубных пристрастий стали мешать гастрольной деятельности Уильямса. Так, в сентябре 2006-го Робби отменил свое азиатское турне якобы из-за переутомления.

Стоит признать, что дела Робби Уильямса на фоне успешного реюниона его бывших коллег по Take That выглядят сейчас не слишком оптимистично. Реюнион-турне группы, от участия в котором отказался Робби, сопровождается аншлагами на концертах, а новый альбом «Beautiful World» бьет рекорды раскупаемости. Также у новой песни Take That «Patience» есть все шансы стать победителем номинации «Лучший сингл» на церемонии Brit Awards, которая состоится 14 февраля в Лондоне. Что касается Уильямса, то он даже не числится в списке претендентов в номинациях «Лучший певец» и «Лучший альбом» - впервые за многие годы.

Британский певец Робби Уильямс помещен в реабилитационный центр в США. Как сообщила пресс-секретарь певца Брайони Уоттс, Уильямсу необходимо избавиться от зависимости от лекарств, выдающихся по рецепту.



Об этом стало известно во вторник, 13 февраля, в день рождения певца.

Помощница Уильямса не сообщила дальнейших подробностей, а также адрес лечебного учреждения.

Подруга певца, американская модель Лиз д’Амато, сообщила, что в последнее время он регулярно принимал антидепрессанты.

"Он боролся с самим собой. Он не пил, но принимал антидепрессанты каждый день. Часто казалось, что он на грани срыва", - заявила она в интервью британскому таблоиду News of the World.

Robbie’s Birthday Gift to Himself: Rehab


Perhaps it’s the start of a fresh, healthy year for singer Robbie Williams as he checks into rehab on his 33rd birthday.

The British singer has been struggling with a presсriрtion drug dependency for a while now and has decided to take a serious approach on the matter, by checking into a US clinic.

This isn’t his first time in rehab, but hopefully, it will be his last. He previously checked in in the late nineties for his addiction to drugs and alcohol, which spiraled out of control when he left Take That in 1995.

As it is, Take That has reunited, without him, and a successful reunion it has turned out to be. Gary Barlow, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Howard Donald enjoyed a number one hit with “Patience” and their album, “Beautiful World,” went multi-platinum.

Robbie’s most recent musical endeavor, “Rudebox,” has not had the warm welcome his former solo material has had. 2007 is also the first time in several years that Williams hasn’t been nominated in the Best Male or Best Album categories at the Brit Awards.

The singer has been battling off depression for some time. His spokeswoman, Bryony Watts, has only commented that the singer has been admitted to an American clinic because of his problem with presсriрtion drugs.

“Robbie Williams has today been admitted into a treatment centre in America for his dependency on presсriрtion drugs. There will be no further comment on this matter.”

Model Lisa d’Amato, who claimed to have had a relationship with Robbie, has revealed his use of anti-depressants. “It was clear he was struggling with his mind,” she told the News of the World. “He doesn't drink, but he needs anti-depressants to get him through the day. A lot of the time he seemed on edge.”

Last year, in September, the British singer cancelled an Asian tour of Shanghai, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Mumbai (Bombay) and Bangalore due to stress and exhaustion.

At the time a statement from his management said: “It became clear that the stress and exhaustion from the Asian tour coming shortly after the end of the European dates would seriously impact on his health.”

The singer has sold 50 million albums worldwide, and has had eight number 1 albums and six number 1 singles in the UK. He has received more Brit Awards than any other artist (15 of them).

As some are already wondering whether this might be the end of Robbie Williams (or at least of his career), perhaps his decision to seek professional help can be seen as a courageous and mature decision to take care of himself.

What better gift to give himself than responsibility for his own life?

When Lisa's friends went home she agreed to stay with Robbie a bit longer—as long as he didn't try it on.
"I'm not the kind of girl who sleeps with people on the first date," she says.
"He promised he wouldn't and said he just wanted to talk. We sat on the sofa and chatted for hours about life and how he felt good in LA because no one knew him.
"It felt like we had made a real connection. I was thinking, ‘Could he be the one?' when suddenly we kissed. It started slow and got more and more heated. His hands were all over me.
"He peeled off my jeans and was over the moon when he discovered I had on little shorts with music notes on. Then he kissed my neck and started moving downwards. I lost all control."
They stopped short of full sex that night—but smitten Robbie bombarded her with texts and invited her round to his home again.
Lisa says: "We were together almost every night for weeks. I thought I'd found a soulmate.
"I didn't want to be another notch on his bedpost, so it was a little while before we went all the way."
And when they did, Lisa was blown away. "He is, without doubt, a master in the bedroom," she says. "The first time we made love was fantastic. He had such stamina. We'd started off investigating each other's tattoos. I have 12 and he has loads. Then we kissed slowly and passionately before he started kissing me all over.
"By the time we started properly making love I was desperate for him. We spent three hours fooling around.

But between their bouts of passion, the pill-popping, brooding Robbie took over. "It was clear he was struggling with his mind. He doesn't drink, but he needs anti-depressants to get him through the day. A lot of the time he seemed on edge.
"He would light up a cigarette, take a few drags and then put it out and light another straight away."
The star refused to go out apart from the odd game of football with pals or to rent DVDs from a nearby store.
"We spent most of our time hiding out in his bedroom. I would offer to take him out for dinner or the movies," says Lisa. "He would just reply ‘Baby Doll, I have a chef, I don't need to go out.' He just wanted to be in the safety of his mansion."
Even in sleep, Robbie was never at peace. "When he started shaking I would gently lift him into my arms and rubbed his arms and legs until he stopped," says Lisa. "He didn't wake up, but it seemed to calm him down." When awake, Robbie—who has had mixed reviews for his album Rudebox—was obsessed with checking his chart position and what was written about him on the net.
"He was very affected about what people thought about his music. He really took things to heart.
"And he was so worried about returning to Europe to complete his Close Encounters tour. He said he hated performing."
He even hid from Lisa the fact that she had hit the UK headlines as his new girlfriend. The first she knew of it was when she started getting death threats from deranged British fans.
"Girls began leaving nasty messages on my Myspace board. So I went onto the internet and found that I had been in the papers in the UK," says Lisa.
"When I spoke to Robbie about it he said he hadn't mentioned the articles because he didn't think it was important. But it was to me.
"Robbie's world is so messed up. He's got the adoration of millions but he's such a lonely person.
"I used to hug him all the time to make him feel he had someone he could rely on."
Robbie even wore T-shirts with Lisa on them he seemed so smitten—but soon she was to go the way of so many beauties who have tried to get close to The Robster.
He suddenly dumped her just before heading off to Europe on tour, saying they were getting too close. "I was devastated. I wasn't with him because he was Robbie Williams—I was with him because he made me laugh and feel so special," says Lisa. "He said he was worried he would hurt me."
They still texted and spoke on the phone—but soon the calls dried up.
"I guess I hoped he would contact me when he got back to LA—but he didn't," says Lisa.
"He led me to believe I could be special, but in the end his demons got the better of him.
"I just hope one day he finds who he's looking for."

What drove Robbie to rehab






ROBBIE Williams was plunged into depression after his old mates in Take That eclipsed his solo efforts with their hit reunion tour and album.


The insecure superstar downed more and more prescription pills to cope as he watched the nation fall in love all over again with the boyband that launched his career.

Manic-depressive Robbie was deeply troubled long before he checked into an exclusive Arizona rehab clinic on his 33rd birthday yesterday.

He told The Sun in an interview last year that he has been clear of addiction to alcohol and cocaine for six years — but still fights a daily battle against his demons.

However, last night his mum Jan, 56 — a drugs counsellor — said going into rehab was “the best present he could give himself”.

She said: “He’s a very public figure and all the media attention at the moment is added pressure on him.”

Jan promised to fly out to join him once he has got through the early stages of his recovery.

She added: “I am not going out to visit Robbie yet. Rehab is all about being on your own. But once he gets better I will be over there like a shot.”

The singer finds it impossible to get to sleep until 4 or 5am due to insomnia and is on sleeping pills. He is hooked on the powerful and controversial anti-depressant Seroxat, which has been linked to suicidal tendencies in teenagers.

And daily he gets through an incredible 36 super-strength double espresso coffees, 60 Silk Cut cigarettes and around 20 cans of energy drink Red Bull.



He suffered agonies as Take That’s reunion tour became one of the biggest pop events of 2006. Their comeback single Patience went straight in at No1 and stayed there for six weeks. Their new album Beautiful World also went straight to No1 and has sold 1.5 million copies.



By contrast, Robbie’s first single from his new album Rudebox went in at a disappointing No 4. And the album stayed at No1 for only a week.

Take That’s Patience is expected to win best single at the Brit Awards tonight. It will be the first time in several years that Robbie has not been in the running in best male or best album categories.

He has a record 15 Brit wins, including three with Take That. But he is up for only one award this year — in the British Live Act category.

The multi-millionaire singer was also tortured by the death of model Anna Nicole Smith last week and feared he too could end up dead if he did not get help.




He insists he HAS NOT suffered a relapse in his battle against cocaine and booze. But he has been on anti-depressants since 2004. His LA mansion has cabinets full of prescription drugs.

Robbie is believed to have checked into the exclusive Meadows clinic in Wickenberg, Arizona. It is the same rehab centre which helped supermodel Kate Moss deal with health problems in the past.

In the last interview Robbie did before going for rehab, he told The Sun: “I can’t honestly say that I don’t take too many prescription drugs. How many is too many? I don’t know. If you drink as much coffee as I do, you can easily get into the too-many-sleeping-tablets thing.”

He also revealed that he was “messed up” and wished a drug could be invented that had the positive effects of ecstasy and cocaine without the negative sides.




He said: “There’s half of me that just wants to be somewhere else in my head.

“I hate drugs, I love drugs. As depressing and heartbreaking as it is, soul-destroying, relationship-destroying as it is, it makes life f****** interesting.”

Robbie clearly knew he was in danger of becoming addicted to prescription drugs when he penned a song on his 2006 Rudebox album titled Good Doctor.

The lyrics ridicule the widespread abuse of prescription drugs in Los Angeles where “pill doctors” will happily prescribe all kinds of uppers and downers.

And Robbie likens himself to Who drummer Keith Moon, who died of a drug overdose.


He sings: “I’ve got all these demons, And I can’t stop ’em. To tell you the truth, Doc, I might have a problem.

“Robert Williams take one Adderall (a drug to treat hyperactivity) with water in the morning. As if I’m goin’ to take one tablet, I’m Keith Moon, D***head.”

The chorus goes: “He said this one’s to take you up. He said this one’s to take you down. When I take ’em I don’t feel sound.”

Talking about the song, Robbie told The Sun: “America is a prescription nation. You can get whatever you f****** want.”

Robbie also revealed in the interview that he is plagued with anxiety and suffers regularly from attacks — especially before a tour.

And he also said he cannot watch films with sad endings because they bring on depression. He added“I’m depressed enough.”


Last night Robbie’s family and friends in and around his home town Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs, were sending messages of love.

His sister Sally said: “He’s very loved and treasured. He does have a vulnerable side, he’s very human. People tend to put him on a pedestal and he almost becomes public domain.

“There’s a lot of pressure that goes with it. He has got all the vulnerability that everyone else has, along with a great talent.” Stoke residents helped by Robbie’s Give It Sum charity were shocked at his plight. Nina Hulse, of Blurton Residents’ Association, said: “He has given us two grants and has helped fund our new building. We wish him all the best.”

Robbie is also patron of North Staffordshire children’s hospice Treetops. Fund-raising chief Gill Benning said: “The children here think the world of him.”

Да уж... Вчера в новостях (про ситуацию с Робом) сказали, что похоже ему пора на покой. Я сперва даж с этим согласилась. Но потом подумала...разве это ему поможет? Закончив свою музыкальную карьеру, разве он приобретёт душевный покой? Нет, всё будет ещё хуже...

Грустное ДР получилось, одно только радует он сам лег (я правильно кажется поняла), т.е. он сам осознал и верится что в будущем не будет прибегать к лекарствам.... главное чтобы он вновь не нашел "хорошую" замену...
