LIFE STYLE EXTRA (UK) - Robbie Williams is to record a duet with a Bollywood singing legend.
Robbie will feature on a track on the new album of Indian megastar Asha Bhosle, 73. The LP is titled 'Asha and Friends', but it is not yet known what the name of the song is.



He is said to be very "excited" about working with the two-time Grammy Award nominee.

A source said: "Asha has already recorded her part of the song. Robbie was keen to work with her after she was nominated for a second time for a Grammy Award."
Asha - whose career has spanned over six decades and has provided playback singing for over 925 Bollywood films - has previously collaborated with Boy George and REM frontman Michael Stipe.

In 1997, British band Cornershop paid tribute to the singer in their hit song 'Brimful of Asha'.

In 2001, Nelly Furtado's worldwide hit 'I'm Like A Bird' included a remix featuring Asha.

ROBBIE WILLIAMS is the man who proves that money really can’t buy you love — or even happiness.

I’ve been shown a copy of his company’s latest accounts, which reveal Robbie paid himself £7.2million for the past year. In four years Robbie has raked in a colossal £40million.

That is £35.6million wages with nice dividend payments on top.

The salary alone breaks down as an average of £171,000 a week — or £25,000 a day. That is more than the highest-paid Premiership footballers get.

Chelsea’s ANDRIY SHEVCHENKO and MICHAEL BALLACK don’t really come close. That must be some consolation for the soccer-mad star, who these days seems to enjoy kicking a ball around more than he does performing.

Yet despite all his money, Rob is still single and unhappy.

He takes anti-depressants so he doesn’t crack up and one famous pal of his told me recently: “Rob actually suffers from manic depression.”

If cash really did solve all your problems Robbie would be dancing down the street clicking his heels together. I’ve seen the latest figures filed by Robbie’s accountants for his firm The In Good Company Co Ltd.

It was set up in October 2002 when Robbie signed his deal with EMI Records.

For the year ending in March 2006 he paid himself £7,186,446. That was based on an increase in turnover to £17.2million from £15million the previous year.

The accounts note that the extra earnings were from income from his Intensive Care album and also from his website robbiewilliams.com — which charges to become a premium member and join his “Inner Sanctum.”

The total sum comes from ongoing revenues from all his EMI records, merchandising and all “other commercial activities.”

In March 2006 Robbie also had £29million in CASH sat in a bank account ready to fund his Intensive Care Tour.

The accounts predict a revenue increase in 2007 — thanks to profits from his Rudebox album and the Close Encounters world tour.

So although Rudebox hasn’t sold as well as previous Robbie albums, he’s still laughing all the way to the bank . . . or should that be sulking?

ROBBIE Williams's reign as the king of the Brits is well and truly over. He has been sensationally snubbed by the awards panel, receiving no nominations for his disastrous album Rudebox.
The critically-panned CD, which was meant to signal his big comeback, was deemed so bad by the voting academy that for the first time in 10 years he is not a contender for Best British Male, Best British Album or Best Single.


Instead, Lily Allen, Arctic Monkeys and Razorlight are expected to dominate proceedings at this year's event at London's Earl's Court Arena on February 14.
Even his arch enemies Oasis will get a gong for Outstanding Contribution to music. But all 32-year-old Robbie has is a conciliatory nomination in the Best Live Act category.
A music biz insider says: "A few years ago Robbie not being nominated would have been unthinkable - he had the Midas touch. But that's clearly deserted him and he's going to have a real struggle on his hands to regain his credibility."
The writing was on the wall for Robbie - who has a record haul of 15 Brits - last September when fans gave Rudebox the thumbs down.
Despite a costly media blitz, the single only just scraped into the Top Five then sank without a trace and the album was beset by problems.
Ex-manager Nigel Martin Smith threatened to sue for libel over the lyrics to The Nineties, which implied he'd ripped Robbie off - the offending words were later changed. Then Rod Stewart's stepson, Ashley Hamilton, accused Robbie of stealing a track they'd written together.
When it was finally released it spent just one week at No.1 before slipping down the charts. It is now not even in the Top 40.
Rudebox's poor sales are said to have been a contributing factor in the departure of EMI chairman and chief Alain Levy and his deputy David Munns, who were both axed yesterday.
Another source reveals: "Rudebox has been an unmitigated disaster for Robbie and the record company. We knew things were bad but were hoping for at least one decent nomination from the Brits."
Instead, it's his old bandmates Take That who are riding high. They topped the charts at Christmas and had one of last year's top selling albums. Maybe that full reunion is not such a bad idea after all, eh Rob?
The full list of Brits nominations will be unveiled at a star-studded bash at London's Hammersmith Palais on Tuesday which will feature performances from The Fratellis, The Feeling and Lemar - all of which will be screened on ITV2 at 8pm.
